| WaterShield™ calcium chloride packing is a white, high purity, anhydrous granule with 90 to 94 percent CaCl2 by weight.
Refineries and petrochemical plants use WaterShield to remove dissolved and free water from hydrocarbon streams. It significantly outperforms other means of moisture removal. The large, faceted granule, and narrow particle size distribution of WaterShield allows a uniform packing density, which reduces bridging and channeling. This reduction promotes the best contact between the product stream and drying medium for maximum drying effectiveness and even column packing.
WaterShield exhibits the following features:
- Large, faceted, granule approximately 3/8” in diameter,
- Low dusting and low friability,
- Very low impurities, and
- Uniform particle size.
WaterShield calcium chloride offers the following benefits:
- Even column packing,
- Improved flow distribution, and
- Reduction of bridging and channeling.
WaterShield calcium chloride packing can be applied to most refining, petrochemical, and propane distribution dehydration systems with flow rates from 20 gpm to 50,000 bbl/day. It can significantly reduce inlet water concentrations of 25 – 3,000 ppm to just 1 – 150 ppm. |
